Dear Family,

It was good to pick up the ROBIN here in Maryland when we arrived. Such a great family and beautiful pictures, and up-right standing citizens.

We left Mesa, AZ June 3rd. We have this map on the spare tire of our motor home that had several blank states that needed filled in. Utah, Wy. Mt, ND, SD, Mn. and WI, now all those states have their beautiful logo on the map. There were several highlights, but one was June 9 (our 45th wedding anniversary) we were in Yellowstone Park and woke up to 8-10 inches of pure white snow. The day before we saw Old Faithful and the Grand geyser do their blow. NICE!

We will be here in Maryland for 4-5 weeks and then begin our tour with Grand Circle Tour Co. to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island with 18 other Church of the Brethren friends. After that trip we will be driving to Lake Junaluska, NC for an older adult conference. About 1000 Church of the Brethren folks over 55 will be in attendance. Jan and I each have some responsibility during the Conference. Carol & Jerrys Condo is about 2 hr. drive from the conference center and she may drive over for a days visit. We will drive back to Mesa after a week end with Carol at the condo.

We were so pleased so many of you came to the Family reunion last year which Reis and Joann hosted. It was fun and we were so pleased to host the gathering. Just sorry our tour schedule interfers with this years reunion at Pete and Karens’.

Randy and Teresa are still happy and busy with their life in Monroe, WA. Teresa has been on a big project for Microsoft and struggles with the folks who are reportable to her as they work as a team. Randy received a small raise and new title, but don’t ask me the name of the company he works for..ugh (Dumb Mom)

Robin, Jane, Lisa and Laura have a busy life in Batavia, IL. Both Robin and Jane work at Lucent Technology. They say they are not worried about their jobs, but it’s not a very secure place right now. Lisa will be 14 in Oct. Laura was 11 in May. We were so pleased when, after several years of inviting the girls to go to our church annual conference with us, Laura was a first time attender. She had fun and was so mature as we met international people from Nigeria, Brazil and Dominica Republic. They have wonderful children’s activities: a field trip to a Science Museum and a public park along the Ohio River and Churchill Downs (home of the Kentucky Derby)

Reis and Joann keep lawn mowed, feed the animals, shop and clean the house, keep in touch with family and friends and go to work 5-6 days a week. Guess you have to be young to keep up with that kind of schedule. Yes, Reis and Joann enjoyed a period of time at Jerry and Carols to do some maintenance work and get some warm sunshine.

It seems very likely we will accept the call to be Interim Co-pastors for a Church in central CA beginniing mid October till end of March. The Modesto Church of the Brethren is a large congregation just east of the Bay area. If you are in the area, give us a holler! Rthompson5@juno.com or Shalom4you2@juno.com.
It was a real pleasure to be part of Matt Brubaker and Heather Jackson’s wedding and reception. They made/make a lovely couple and Jan did a great job of tying the knot. It was good to see the Brubaker clan and Barb and Keith.

Hey Family, you are special and we love reading about your activities. Keep Robin moving.

Love and Prayers, Roma Jo and R..JanThompson
