We are trying something new this year. Dad is keeping the robin safe at his house and instead posting the current letters on the web site for each of us to see. It’s nice to have them there to read (and re-read) over time, and it should speed things up through our family group. I see Dave/Dan/Cindy have already written their letters. Less than a month from dad to me is faster than usual. I’ll have to admit that I haven’t been updating the website nearly as much as I should. In fact, not much has been changed since last year. I have pictures from my 40th birthday party (October), Christmas, and Dave’s 50th (February) that need to be put up. At least Steve has been busy, updating pictures on his page and adding the video of Kam from Christmas. And dad religiously updates the birthday section of the home page – the pictures help me remember who is who (flash cards for the family reunion). I have been in my house a little over a year now and really am enjoying it. April/May last year I was too busy to appreciate the solitude of walking the beach before the summer crowds find their way here. Hardly a soul around when I walk the boardwalk after work. I’m still hoping any of you that come to the casinos will give me a call and stop by. Family is always welcome! I have most of the furniture where I want it, though there is always more to do. A pool table in the living room and dartboard/beer tap in the family room should tell you a bachelor lives here! Cindy’s daughter Lisa may work one day a week in Margate over the summer and stay overnight when she does. I’m really looking forward to spending some time with her. All the kids are growing up, and she and Tara in particular are at a great age (at least to a non-parent). I just came back from a four day stay in Marco Island FL. A friend owns a condo and has wanted me to visit for awhile. Very beautiful place! Hadn’t had a day off for a couple months, so it was a nice break. Next is a trip to Duck, NC in mid June. The family reunion will be here before you know it. I enjoyed last year in MD and the golf days afterward. I would love to join in again if anyone is playing after this year’s reunion. I’m still working for the FAA at the Atlantic City Airport. The Air National Guard 177th Fighter Group is based here, and since September 11th they have been flying quite a bit. It’s awesome to watch them take off. I watched four fighters take off in close formation (two at a time off the same runway) last week. I assume they were only practicing, since there was nothing in the news to indicate a reason for it. It is an unbelievable sight to see. Well, enough from me. Love to you all. |
