Dear Family,

On June 16 we were blessed with our first granddaughter. Her name is Jillian and she has totally taken over running the house for Cheri and Bill. I am sure none of our children were quite so influential. People told me there is nothing quite like having grandchildren and they were so right.

In August we traveled to Seattle Washington for Debi and her new husband Matt Mahon's wedding. It was a great time. Debi arranged things so family and friends were involved in the preparations of the wedding. We did the flower arrangements, the center pieces, and made cookies. Instead of having a rehearsal dinner, on Friday before the wedding she had a picnic at her house, inviting all the people from out of town and a few of their close friends. We stayed in Seattle for a week and after the wedding did some sight seeing. This is a beautiful part of our country and any of you that haven't been there should make an effort to visit.

In September we traveled to Sun City Arizona for Uncle Bru's 80th birthday party. It was a wonderful time. Most of the out of town people stayed at the same motel. It was like a family reunion every morning at breakfast. Saturday we arrived at the Brubaker's for dinner and all this food was spread out on the dining room table. After filling up on all these tasty morsels I found out that they were just the appetizers. The food was just so good, I really stuffed myself. Aunt Jean fed us all for two days and then Karen and I went to Sedona for a couple of days and then came back to Sun City and stayed for another day.

The rest of the family is doing well. Lori has graduated from Pitt with her masters degree in social work. She has decided to come back home to live for a year. Other than Karen, she is Cheri and Bill's number one baby sitter. Kimberly is living in Memphis working as a nurse in the trauma center. She still thinks about medical school and some day will get there.

Love, Pete
