Dear Family:

It certainly is good to see a New Year before us. Looking back at the past year or two an awful lot has happened, and a lot of it wasn’t too good. Losing John Pursley, Aunt Enid, Aunt Patsy, Aunt Cricket, and Uncle Wes has certainly taken a toll on our family. We will miss them all so very much, but with our losses we’ve also received many blessings. There have been several new additions to the family. We are certainly enjoying our youngest grandson Mitchell. It’s hard to believe he is already 17 months old. I’ll include a recent picture of him with my letter.

For me, this past year has been a nightmare health-wise. I never realized how fortunate I’ve been to be blessed with good health for most of my 74 years. I started out a year ago with cataract surgery. It didn’t turn out as well as I hoped, but I guess you can never get perfect vision back once you’ve lost it. Then I had an abscess on my butt that had to be lanced. A month later, I had a problem with rectal bleeding and had to have a colonoscopy. They found nothing wrong and said the bleeding was from internal hemorrhoids. In August I had a pinched nerve in my neck which caused unbelievable pain down my right arm. After several months of chiropractic treatment all the pain is gone, but the nerves haven’t completely healed yet. As you will probably notice I have difficulty writing. I still have a problem with strength and control of my fingers. Now, for the past few weeks I’ve had a head cold and sinus infection. I wake up every morning and wonder what’s next.

Enough already. I see that several families have moved since robin’s last visit. Some have changed jobs. Hope every change works out for the better.

Sorry we missed the reunion in August, we had planned on being there, but things just didn’t work out for us. We enjoyed Sally and Beth’s visit and we hope they had a good time too. We had a nice visit from Skip & Trudy between Christmas and New Year. We celebrated Polly’s birthday and saw the New Year in together.

Shelley’s husband Fred was activated in the Air Force Reserve and went over seas on Jan 3rd. He is certainly being missed by Shelley and Mitchell, but he is only expecting to be gone for a couple of months. Everyone else here seems to be doing fine. We hope and pray that this New Year will be a great one for all the clan, and God will pour out his blessings on us all.

Till next we meet, love to all from

Percy, Polly, and family
