Dear Family,

Glad to see the Robin found its way back to Oregon finally. I see that many of us are having trouble keeping
this thing moving on in the week time limit that has been set. This arrived the day before we were leaving for
Los Angeles to attend my Aunt's funeral/Celebration of Life. As my brother Brad mentioned, our family has been
collared with way too many medical situations with our older generation. My Aunt died several weeks ago due
to complications from a "routine" heart valve replacement surgery. My Uncle died yesterday as the result of his
brief battle with cancer. He was able to hang on just long enough to see us all one last time and say goodbye to
his wife of 49 years. This is my Aunt/Uncle on my father's side of the family. We made a quick 4-day, 1800 mile
trip to attend the funeral in Los Angeles. Needless to say, I have had the Robin more than my week.

I had the opportunity to go back East two summers ago (Robin hasn't been back since this trip) and attend the
National Education Computing Conference in Philadelphia. Being a Civil War buff, I wanted to extend my trip and
visit Skip & Trudy and make a side trip to Gettysburg. Skip & Trudy were most gracious at letting me stay with them
for the better part of a week. Skip loaned me a car to make the journey to Gettysburg. I also enjoyed the opportunity
to visit briefly with Rich and Dan and partake in the great Mickey tradition of drinking a couple of beers with "the boys"
and Skip. It was a great trip and I really enjoyed getting reacquainted with part of the family. We all enjoyed fireworks
on the 4th of July in Allentown. I was also able to visit my birthplace in Pottsville and Schuylkill Haven, PA. I hadn't
been back since 1964. I really enjoyed my time in Pennsylvania. Very beautiful state, Reminds me a lot of Oregon.

Now to catch you up on the family:

Mom is recovering from her back surgery and will be up here in a couple of weeks for Scott's (middle son) graduation
from Lewis & Clark College. He is graduating in Biology and has been accepted to Concordia College to pursue his
Master's in Education to become a teacher like his father. Scott got engaged to a beautiful young lady during our Spring
Break on the West Coast. He proposed in front of the castle at Disneyland. The wedding will not take place for two years
(maybe!) since Lindsay has two more years of school and she too will be pursuing a degree to become a teacher.

Brett, our oldest son, graduated from the University of Oregon (thus mom being a Duck fan now) last summer in Psychology.
He had been a student football manager for his first four years and when his boss got hired away by Cal, he became the
Assistant Equipment Manager for the Duck athletic department, while still a student. He is now gainfully employed by the
University of Oregon and loving his job. He travels to all the football games and also has made two trips back East with the
women's Lacrosse team. North Carolina this past year and Washington DC & Maryland the year before.

Bethany, our youngest, is a junior at Roseburg High School, where I am still the Technology Coordinator and Head Track
Coach. We hosted a German student this past Fall and Beth will be spending a month in Germany this summer as part of
the GAPP exchange program. She is really looking forward to spending a month in Germany. One week will be spent touring,
the other three living with the girl's family that stayed with us. Beth will graduate next year and is planning on attending the
University of Portland.

Sarah and I are wondering what life will be like in a year with an empty nest. We have both worked enough years now that
retirement is now something to be talked about. This is my 30th year as a teacher and Sarah has 29 years working for the
Douglas County Health Dept. Usually, 30 years is the magic number. I plan on working beyond that though.

We enjoyed reading the letters from all of you. Hope this finds you healthy and getting ready to enjoy your summer.

Love,

Jim and Sarah Moyer

PS: I will bypass both Brett and Scott this year with the letter as Brett is busy with Spring Football at Oregon and Scott
is swamped trying to finish up and graduate in two weeks.
